Community Partners

At Federal Way Birth Center, community is at the heart of everything we do. We partner and collaborate with several community organizations and nonprofits to provide auxiliary and wrap-around services to our families, which is an excellent approach to holistic and comprehensive maternity care. This model helps ensure that expectant mothers receive a range of support services, promoting a healthy and empowering childbirth experience. Global Perinatal Services (GPS) is one of our nonprofit partners, that provides several wrap-around services and resources to families. The following are some of the services and resources GPS offers.

  1. Easy Access Clinic: The FIRST of its kind in the state of Washington.

Services Include:

  • Expert Midwifery Care
  • Lactation Consultations
  • Childbirth Education Classes
  • Family-Centered Support
  • Safe and Inclusive Environment
  • Open Discussions & Q&A Sessions

Clinics in Burien (Tuesdays) & Federal Way (Thursdays) from 9AM-5PM.

Serving King & Pierce County residents

All are welcome! ((Undocumented, Uninsured, & Interpretation available))

2. Black Bundle of Joy

Aims to assist expecting first-time Black parents with transitioning into their role of parenthood.

Parents Will Receive:

  • Free Doula Services
  • Baby Items (ex. car seat, diapers, wipes)
  • $100 Gift Card

Classes & Services Include:

  • Doula Support
  • Childbirth Education Classes
  • Lactation Support
  • Father-to-Father Support

3. Lactation Support Services

The First of its kind in Washington.

Sessions led by Lactation Peer Support Doulas & Midwives providing breastfeeding, chest-feeding and nutritional support. This support is available both in person and virtually. Hotline staff are trained lactation counselors and can help with your lactation questions/concerns. We offer services in English, Somali, French and Bambara. 4. Support Groups

GPS’s Support Groups help parents, partners, and caregivers connect, share experiences, and seek guidance. These groups can be especially beneficial for parents facing various challenges or seeking a sense of community. Services and critical resources offered, as well as expert speakers on various topics.
