About

A freestanding birth center is appropriate for low-risk candidates seeking personalized care with a midwife, minimum interventions during labor and birth, and those who value taking an active role in their experience.

Put Your Mind at Ease

The Federal Way Birth Center is in the process of becoming licensed by the State of Washington.

Federal Way Birth Center is nestled in the heart of the city of Federal Way, and only about two miles from two major hospitals.

Come and see if our birth center is right for you.

Quality Care

Equipment:

Quality care at FWBC means that the well-being, safety, and autonomy of the birthing individual are of the utmost importance to our midwives during labor and delivery.

The birth center is equipped with the necessary medications, supplies, instruments, equipment, and safety protocols for labor and birth for both birthing individuals and babies.

Admittance:

Your midwife will admit you to the birth center when you are in active labor and stay between 3-6 hours after giving birth. Once both the birthing person and baby are stable, you are discharged to go home. Your midwife will follow up for further postpartum visits.

Insurance coverage

Federal Way Birth Center is in network with most insurance companies, including State Apple Health Plans.

Federal Birth Center is equipped with the necessary supplies for your midwife to provide optimal, safe, evidence-based care.

There is oxygen, gas, and resuscitation equipment for adults and newborns. IV fluid therapy, used as needed. Drugs for treating or preventing postpartum hemorrhage, and local anesthetics to numb skin and tissues if any stitches are necessary. You can wear your choice of clothing to labor in. Plenty of bathing towels are provided. And of course, our deep, beautiful bathing tubs for a waterbirth or just a way to help cope with labor.
